Visitor Information

Location

Areyonga is located in the Southern Region, approximately 240 kms west south west of Alice Springs, on the eastern portion of the Haasts Bluff Land Trust.

Although Areyonga is a turn off from the Mereene Loop road, it is not a tourist destination. Therefore only invited visitors need apply for a permit.

Permit

You will need a permit to visit Areyonga. Applications for permits are to be made to the Central Lands Council. You may do this over the web. Please click on the link below to access the CLC website.

Access

The community is accessible all year by 4WD.

Road: The road to Areyonga is good, although the community is totally isolated during wet weather.

Air: Regular air services with a mail plane departing Alice Springs every Wednesday.

Accomodation

Contractors, trainers, etc. can be accomodated in the newly restored Manse @ $27.50 per night.

Telephones, radio, facismile, BRACS, and the internet.

Community Store

Areyonga has a community store which provides the community with everything a supermarket would.
