| Sorry Business
Sorry Business is the time after the death of someone who is from the Community.
The close family members of the person who has died will not talk for a period of time, sometimes up to six months for a very important person. Sorry meetings are held to make enquires about the death. As most family groups have relatives in other communities, these family members will travel to the community the person has died on to attend Sorry Meetings.
Respect for the time spent on Sorry Meetings is important and the shaking of hands with immediate family members. Women sweeping the building and pathways around the community is also part of Sorry Business. It is important to note that the word 'kumana' is used to replace another word 'kumana' is therefore used to refer to people who may have had the same name, or a similar sounding name, as the deceased.
